Drama banquet marks the end of 2015-16 season


Cast and crew of Mr. Flannery's Ocean, runners-up in sub-section competition in Park Rapids this past winter.
               Students and their families gathered in May to reminisce on the year, recognize accomplishments, and look forward to the new season.
               Mr. Henningsgaard recognized the efforts of the cast and crew of the one act play on their runner up status in the sub-sections and their fine showing at the section meet in Wadena. Participants included Jackson Booth, Rebecca Clyde, Skylar St. Marie, Zachary Stute, Gracie Gamache, Samuel Langaas, Hannah Kahlstorf, Aysa Westrum, Kari Pierce, Latasha Makarrall, AnnIka Olson, Kyle Kloehn, and Ethan Stute.
               Students honored their peers in a variety of categories. Best Bit Part went to Gracie Gamache for her role as a young girl in Mr. Flannery's Ocean; Rookie of the Year to Alex Forseman for his role as Avery in Charlotte's Web; Most Valuable Techie to Kyle Kloehn for lights in both shows; Best Supporting Actor to Zachary Stute for Avery in Charlotte's Web; Best Actor to  Jackson Booth for his role as Jim Flannery; and Best Actress to Rebecca Clyde for her work as Wilbur in Charlotte's Web.                First time drama letter winners included Gracie Gamache, Hannah Kahlstorf, Zachary Stute, Naomi Halvorson, Aysa Westrum and Kari Pierce. Jackson Booth was singled out for the Director's Award for his diligent and generous contributions to Laporte School theater on and off the stage.
               The 2016-17 club officers were announced: Skylar St. Marie, president; Rebecca Clyde, vice-president; and Hannah Kahlstorf, secretary-treasurer.
