My name is Robyn Christopher.  I have been a teacher for 22 years. This is my 6th school year at Laporte Elementary.   I started as a Literacy Coach for the district;  I now work as a Reading Intervention Teacher.  I have a degree in Elementary Education and a reading license to teach students with additional reading difficulties, including Dyslexia, using the Orton-Gillingham approach.  I have three children of my own in High School, Middle School, and Elementary.  I know first-hand the joys and challenges of teaching as well as helping children at home with their reading! What I like most about my job is the relationships I build with students.  I enjoy giving students the tools, skills, and encouragement necessary to read.  It’s a wonderful feeling when a student begins to see themselves as a reader.  I am so glad I get to be a part of that experience and to be a part of the Laporte team!
